Founded in 1835, the Stewart brothers started a watch & clock making business in Glasgow. In 1871 the son of Robert Stewart took over the family business and moved the company in a more jewellery oriented direction. However, in it's 99th year of operation (1934) R. Stewart closed their doors permanently. At the time, they were one of the most prestigious jewellers in Glasgow!
